It displays the notes of a chordshape, chord or scale on staff lines in standard music notation.
In general, ChordWizard presents musical concepts using the fretboard, note and degree names, so you do not need to know how to read music to understand how it works on your instrument.
The View Staff tool can help you learn to read music, or it can give you a common reference point for comparing the pitches of the chordshapes, chords and scales that you are exploring.
The colors of the notes and description in the View Staff window are color-coded to indicate whether they relate to chordshapes, chords or scales.
You these are updated automatically with the Fretboard Finger Blocks, the Chord Matrix Labels and the Scale Matrix Labels elements in the Display Options.
Controls
Chordshape/Chord/Scale
This area gives the name of the chordshape, chord or scale you are viewing. The caption may be any of the three listed, depending on the situation.
Play
This button plays the sound of the chordshape, chord or scale you are viewing.
Staff Lines
This area is the main feature of the View Staff tool. It displays a bass and treble clef with the notes on it.
Chordshape and chord notes are arranged vertically, indicating that they are played at the same time. Scale notes are arranged diagonally, indicating they are played in series.
Each staff line represents a note, which is labelled at the right hand side. This helps you learn them and to make it easier to work out the notes of your chordshape, chord or scale.
You can change the color of the staff background or lines with the Display Options.
Close
Closes the View Staff window and returns to the workspace.
