Design Panel |
The Design Panel contains the current chordshape design in Design View, provides buttons for common functions, and indicates if, and how, the chordshape does not satisfy the Searching options.
The chordshape design is also shown graphically on the Fretboard.

The main feature of the Design Panel is the tablature notation of the chordshape you are designing.
There are several keystrokes you can use to edit this tablature and update the chordshape design. Any changes you make are reflected in the fretboard.
You can also update the chordshape directly from the Fretboard, and any changes you make there are similarly reflected in the Design Panel. The matching chords of the chordshape design are shown in the Matching Chord List.
The three buttons on the Design Panel perform the following functions, which also have keyboard or menu equivalents:
Search List - Opens the Search List window to show a whole list of search results at the same time. This is disabled if there is currently no filter.

Menu: Chordshape-Search List
Power Match - Opens the Power Match window to help you identify the matching chords of the chordshape design, if you are not happy with the results you get automatically in the Matching Chord List.

Menu: Chordshape-Power Match
Add to Library - Adds the current chordshape design to the library. If it is a movable chordshape, you may be prompted with the Movable Series window, which allows you add a whole series of shifted chordshapes at the same time. If the chordshape design is already stored in the library, the Add to Library button is disabled. The Status Bar will also indicate this situation.

Keyboard: Enter

There are also several buttons on the Design Bar which work specifically with Design View.
At the bottom of the Design Panel is a line of text which indicates with a short description if the chordshape does not satisfy the Searching options. In this case, the elements of the chordshape responsible will also be highlighted in red on the Fretboard.
To the right of this line is a small button marked with an ellipsis [...], which opens a popup window containing the Searching options in case you want to make adjustments.
This line and the chordshape tablature region are colored green to indicate that they deal with chordshapes. Many screen elements in the ChordWizard workspace are color-coded in this way. You can change any workspace colors with the Display options.
